This was a coal and ice dealer located in Vancouver, BC from the early 1900's into the 1050's. The kit models the coal facility which was a structure made by Fairbanks (later Fairbanks Morse) and this type of building was common all over North America well into the 1950's. This company also made  coal towers for railways from the early 1900's.  (The company was interested in the lifting bucket mechanisms used to empty the  hoppers.) This coal dock was used to fill coal sacks for delivery to retail customers usually on flat bed trucks. Coal was delivered by rail in hoppers and unloaded into the hopper type building, then dispensed through a number of chutes. The building us a well detailed traffic builder for any layout modelled in the transition or earlier era. An interesting feature of the company was their well known motto "PHONE TO MORROW FOR YOUR COAL TODAY". A sign with this logo is included as is a small office. the footprint is 2.5" x 7.5" not including the 2" x 3" office.
