Quick Update

Genesis GP38-2(W)/TLT Reefers/TCS Sound Decoders/CDS/Shipping Insurance

Last week was a busy one. The bulk of the Athearn "Genesis" EMD GP38-2(W) in Canadian National colours arrived. There was a lot of late interest in these locomotives, probably due to the excellent initial reviews. I still have a bunch available, with and without "Tsunami" sound. In addition, the long-awaited TrueLine 8-hatch refrigerator cars, in CN and GTW leaf schemes, turned up - finally. I did receive all that I ordered this time and have a few left in the Store for late-comers.

Lots of new stuff has been added for pre-order. Atlas has announced a re-designed ALCo S2 and will produce the CP script scheme. From Broadway there's more AC6000CW in CP and a new NW2 in CN. Don't forget the end-of-the-month deadline on the Rapido F9B. Note the reprinting of the first volume of Bytown's Montreal Streetcar series. Then there's the first of a new line of sound decoders coming from Train Control Systems - definitely something to look forward to.

It seems like I've added about 850 new items in the last 90 days. They are mostly detail parts and paints - Kaslo Shops and Miniatures By Eric kept me busy for a while. But you did ask for them so I delivered.

Now that Ozark Miniatures have taken over the CDS Lettering line they have posted images for most of the dry transfers. I am in the process of added the images in the Store. The price has risen somewhat, but my discount is still 17.5%.

My best-selling lines continue to be Digitrax, Peco and SoundTraxx - with NCE and TCS catching up. I know - its my great prices (and very reasonable shipping charges).

Talking of shipping charges, I currently pay most, or all, of the shipping insurance on your shipments. What with having to buy boxes, paying Paypal and credit card charges, this can take a bite out of my profit on the deal. I am considering adding the insurance cost to your shipping charge. Do you agree with this? This is your chance to have your say. Please leave a comment - I will consider all and decide accordingly.

That's it for now, have a great week,

Dave Cool
